Junior Holiday Sailing Camps
These 4-day camps are a fun holiday experience sailing and learning about sailing. We sometime offer 3 day camps when there are short weeks. For children who are in Tackers 1-3 , Green fleet or Opti performance this course is designed for our independent sailors to affirm their sailing skills and an introductory to fun racing. Sailors can use their own boat or Club Opti's each day and will be led by our Australian Sailing certified instructors.

- Introduction to racing
- Wind awareness
- Position in the boat for fast sailing
- Steering, tacking and gybing
- Knot tying
- Tide and weather awareness
- Communication on water eg radio, flags
- Capsizing
- Water and boat safety
An example timetable for the day:
9am arrival and safety briefing / Theory
9.15am rigging up of boats
9.45 11am Setting sail/ activity one
11am morning tea
11:15- 11:30 Briefing / Theory
11.30-12.30 activity two
12.30-1:30pm Lunch time / water activity
1.30-2.30 Sailing / Activity three
2.30-300pm de-rigging, packaway and debrief of the day.

What to Bring
Each participant will need to bring:
- Board shorts, rashie or/and wetsuit
- A change of warm clothes, Towel
- Sunscreen and hat
- Old shoes or rubber boots for sailing (Aqua socks)
- A packed lunch and drink (including snacks) (NO NUTS)
Holiday camp options:
Rose Bay Adventure Club 1 day camp is open to all 6 years + no experience necessary
Junior Holiday Camps 4 days are for all sailors including Tackers 3 +
Our Teens holiday programs are suitable for secondary school students 12 years + no experience necessary.
