Child Safe Policy

Woollahra Sailing Club Child Safe Policy At Woollahra Sailing Club, integrity is a core value that we and the wider sailing community uphold. The board are committed to ensuring that everyone involved with Sailing is treated with respect and dignity and is protected from abuse, bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, unlawful discrimination, victimisation, and vilification. We are currently implementing comprehensive policies and procedures to safeguard the wellbeing of all children under our care. Based upon the Office of the Children's Guardian framework, we are developing a set of policies and procedures that outline how we protect children. These include guidelines on appropriate behaviour, mandatory reporting of any concerns, and the responsibilities of our staff, volunteers, and members. We continuously review and update these policies to ensure they remain effective and relevant. Sport Integrity Australia & Office of the Children's Guardian plays a crucial role in our child safety initiatives, they provide us with resources, guidelines, and training modules that help us implement best practices. This collaboration ensures that our policies are aligned with national standards & Australian Sailing and that we are equipped to handle any situations that may arise. Australian Sailing works closely with Sport Integrity Australia, the national coordination agency for sport integrity threats. For more information about Sport Integrity Australia, visit its website: https://www.sportintegrity.gov.au/ The National Integrity Framework is made up of five policies. The page linked below has all these, and other integrity-related policies: https://www.sailing.org.au/integrity/integrity-policies/ Nicole Crameri is our designated Child Safety Officer. Nicole is responsible for handling escalations and ensuring that all concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. We encourage anyone who has a concern, no matter how small, to reach out to Nicole. Confidentiality is paramount, and support will be provided to all parties involved.
