We're thrilled to have a thriving ILCA (Laser) Youth Squad at WSC providing a genuine program experience for all participants, setting the stage for a lifelong connection to the sport of sailing through the ILCA community, coaching and regattas. Our focus is on the genuine development of sailors towards their goals and objectives from team members who have genuine experience in supporting sailors as well as the requisite personal racing expertise. Your own boat and participating in club racing at WSC are requirements of the program. Some boat charters are available NB SailSports

There are sessions on Fridays and Sundays during the winter terms with additional sessions Wednesdays and Saturdays when there is demand - usually term 1 and term 4. There is coaching and transport support available for the all the ILCA regattas supplied by NB Sail Sports.

ILCA (Laser) Youth Program: what to expect:

Expert Guidance: Led by the highly respected sailor and coach, Rob McMillan, the program will be both professionally structured and tailored to each of the sailors. As many will know, Rob has been working with a group of sailors in QLD as well as the JPN Sailing Team, but we are delighted to be offering this program in NSW.

Tailored Development: Designed with the needs of youth and junior sailors in mind, our program focuses on holistic growth, preparing participants for successful transitions into and within the ILCA (Laser) classes both on and off the water. This will include other specialist coaches for specialist aspects of racing, boat handling, and physical preparation.

Fun-Filled: Expect engaging sessions filled with learning, camaraderie, and plenty of fun! Our goal is to have fun while equipping participants with the skills they need for success in an environment where catering for youth sailing is the focus.

Comprehensive: Outside of the sessions at Woollahra Sailing Club, our partnership includes storage, professional logistical support, priority charter boats, and regatta coaching at all major state and national events on the calendar, as well as other member benefits to make participation as easy as possible for sailors and supporters.
