Working at Woollahra Sailing Club
Woollahra Sailing Club (WSC) offers rewarding opportunities for people who are passionate about sailing, coaching, waterfront operations and community sport. Whether you are looking to begin your journey as a volunteer or build experience in the marine and sailing industry, WSC provides clear development pathways in instructing, on-water support and yard management.
We are committed to helping our team grow through ongoing training, practical experience and professional development. Our goal is to support every staff member and volunteer to build confidence, develop skills and reach their potential in a positive club environment.
We welcome volunteers aged 12 and over, with employment opportunities considered from age 14 and over. These pathways are designed to help young people and aspiring marine professionals gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to one of Sydney’s leading sailing clubs.
Instructing at WSC
As an accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre, Woollahra Sailing Club maintains high standards in sailing education and safety. Our instructors hold recognised Australian Sailing qualifications across:
- Dinghy Sailing
- Windsurfing
- Powerboating
Working as an instructor at WSC is an excellent opportunity to build coaching skills, gain nationally recognised qualifications and be part of a team that introduces people of all ages to sailing and watersports. Instructors play an important role in delivering safe, engaging and enjoyable programs for beginners through to developing sailors.
On-Water Support and Yard Management
In addition to instructing roles, WSC also offers pathways in on-water support and yard management. These positions are ideal for people interested in the operational side of a sailing club, including boat handling, safety support, equipment care and day-to-day waterfront activities.
These roles provide practical experience in a dynamic club setting and can be a valuable stepping stone into broader opportunities within sailing, sport, recreation and marine operations.
